SIMPLICITY
In this photo, I focused on simplicity. What is in focus,
is a part of the girls hair and face, but you can also the action
of what she is doing. If I had put the whole photo into focus
nothing would be standing out to the viewer.

THIRD PERSON
In this photo, my composition rule was third person.
I could have put the girl in far left, in the center, but then
it would have changed what your audience was seeing.
I wanted them to see the girl, but also where she was. Since the
girl who I was really striving to make the subject, is not really the
first thing you might see, I probably would have changed my focus
manually.

AVOIDING MERGERS
I really tried to follow the composition rule of
avoiding mergers in this photo. As you can see there
is a girl, and behind her you can see a chalkboard
with a metal strip at the top that would have looked
like it was cutting into the head of the girl if I hadn't
put her as just the focus. But I did put her in focus and
the chalkboard out of focus, so you can still see it, but it
isn't together looking as one.
BALANCE
This photo worked out, because it is balanced. The first thing you
really see in the photo is the water bottle, making it the focus, but on either side of it are two kids
and the teacher right in front of it forming a triangle sort of shape, creating balance in the photo.

LINES
I really like this photo because the focus, (the hand) really ties in with composition
of lines I was using in this photo. The lines of the lockers line up with the arm and the fingers,
and the blue of her jacket is also contrasting well with the blue of the lockers.
THIRD PERSON
In this photo, I once again used third person. I really like this photo, because
I captured the girls reaction to something she was working on, making her the center focus
 of the photo.

  1. Hey nice photos! It's clear you have a pretty good understanding of photography and composition rules. One thing I noticed though is that one of your photos was a bit underexposed. Otherwise the photos are pretty good!

  2. I really like your picture for lines because it is very simple and the lines lead me to the subject of the hand. I think for your balance picture you had the right picture, but the focus is on the water bottle not the two boys which are the subjects i presume.

  3. Hey Aves!! I really like these pictures you took! They are very focused and you have a nice variety of shots. One thing though, I couldn't really tell what rules were used on a few of the pictures. I'm really liking your work so far!! I will definitely check back on your blog!!
