A) A news story has hard facts whereas an opinion story might have facts, but might push the facts based on their opinions.
Opinion story is based around peoples thoughts and not necessarily statistics
A news story doesn't include opinions and only facts
B) There wasn't a ton of space on the paper. For as much writing needed in those stories they probably thought it was okay.
