Self Portraits vs. the Selfie

Image
1. A selfie is a photograph that you take of yourself, typically with a smart phone, etc. and posted on social media. 2. A self-portrait is a portrait of an artist produced or created by that artist. 3. I do think there is definitely a difference between a selfie and a self portrait. As most people know a selfie is where you just hold the camera up in front of your face and snap the photo. Selfies are a more casual and less creative way of taking a photo of yourself. A self portrait takes a bit more time to plan out and it is a bit more formal of a photo. 4. I really prefer both selfies and self portraits. I like selfies because they are quick and fun and easy to snap, unlike self portraits. I like self portraits though because of the creativity you can put into it, etc. 5. I do not believe one is more important than the other. They are both photographs of yourself, so in the end, it is the same.

Phobia Project

A. Phobia is an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something. B. - Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth.     -  Consecotaleophobia- Fear of chopsticks.     - Ephebiphobia- Fear of teenagers.     -  Paraskavedekatriaphobia- Fear of Friday the 13th.     - Nephophobia- Fear of clouds. C. For my first phobia, which is the dark ( Achluophob i a) I will take photos of my dad in dark, but with a black light on, so that he is still visible but you can see the purpose of the darkness. I will most likely do it in a non lit room, or outside at night. How I will show phobia is that it will be taken in a semi scary looking area and I will maybe have someone or a shadow like thing hiding around in the background giving the photo more context. My second fear is of spiders ( Arachnephobia). I am still deciding on how I am going to display this phobia because there is NO WAY I am getting ...

FAVORITE PHOTOS OF 2016 I am huge fan of David Bowie and his fantastic work, and was very affected by his death this year. It was a sad occurrence, and a mourning people all over the world shared. I enjoy this photo because you not only see the crowd of people, but you see the two eyes of Bowie staring at you. This is MOST DEFINITELY my favorite shot of 2016. All the faces of the crowd are hilarious and the best one yet, Donald Trumps. But I do think the babies faces say it all, this is our new president guys... I really like this photo because of the balance and lines it has included in it. Also the divide between the two waters is really creative and mesmerizing. FAVORITE SONG OF 2016 Rihanna's song "Love on the Brain" was my favorite song of the year. During 2016, MANY great songs were produced and published and all turned into hits that were listened to daily, but as far as this song goes. This was always playing through my headphones. N...

Deadlines, ARGGH!

1. The origins of the word "deadline" came from during the civil war and was used as a boundary the prisoners were not allowed to cross. 2. If I miss today's deadline (which I most definitely did), it will have a bad affect on my grade for photojournalism, and also require more homework for my self, and more stress that I could have prevented. 3. I have not had a problem with meeting deadlines in other classes yet, but if I do have a deadline that I miss, then there will be late points deducted from my overall grade on the assignment. 4. I do not miss deadlines in classes. If I do, it is very rare. I will admit, I am not caught up fully with photojournalism, but I am making sure that is fixed right away. 5. Coach D is so very nice and lets us work on other homework in class or check our phones if we need to, and so those two things kind of distracted me and kept me from finishing my work on time. 6. To complete my assignment as fast as possible, I will put away ...
