Deadlines, ARGGH!

1. The origins of the word "deadline" came from during the civil war and was used as a boundary the prisoners were not allowed to cross.
2. If I miss today's deadline (which I most definitely did), it will have a bad affect on my grade for photojournalism, and also require more homework for my self, and more stress that I could have prevented.
3. I have not had a problem with meeting deadlines in other classes yet, but if I do have a deadline that I miss, then there will be late points deducted from my overall grade on the assignment.
4. I do not miss deadlines in classes. If I do, it is very rare. I will admit, I am not caught up fully with photojournalism, but I am making sure that is fixed right away.
5. Coach D is so very nice and lets us work on other homework in class or check our phones if we need to, and so those two things kind of distracted me and kept me from finishing my work on time.
6. To complete my assignment as fast as possible, I will put away my phone and any other distractions that keep me from finishing my work. 

1.  The most helpful tip that the website talked about was not getting sidetracked. If I apply this to my study time, as well as my time at school, then it will really help me in the long run.
2. For me, I think that saying "no" to an offer for a night out or say "no" to an invitation to something fun, will be the hardest for me. I am all about a good time, and I have a real fear of missing out. So I will have to work on that.
3. I am a morning person rather than a night person.
4. I can create a dedicated study time for myself by putting away distractions, and having a plan of action towards all my work.
5. I need to put away my phone, go to a study space alone, and play soft music. These will help me focus.

 1. There is a big connection between time management and control over you homework. If you have many assignments that are due on different days, then you need to prioritize the ones that are due fist, and manage your time to complete them.
2. My ideal setting for doing homework is alone in my room, so then I don't start talking to anyone and get sidetracked. The mood I usually have in my room is calm, with soft music and and natural light from my windows making me feel like I am not at school.
3. The biggest distraction while doing my work, is that I sometimes lose focus and start to doze off while looking at something. Also my phone is a big distraction because people are notifying me all the time.
4. I need to put my phone away, keep my sister from bothering me in my room, and get good sleep to stay attentive when doing my work.

SIMPLICITY In this photo, I focused on simplicity. What is in focus, is a part of the girls hair and face, but you can also the action of what she is doing. If I had put the whole photo into focus nothing would be standing out to the viewer. THIRD PERSON In this photo, my composition rule was third person. I could have put the girl in far left, in the center, but then it would have changed what your audience was seeing. I wanted them to see the girl, but also where she was. Since the girl who I was really striving to make the subject, is not really the first thing you might see, I probably would have changed my focus manually. AVOIDING MERGERS I really tried to follow the composition rule of  avoiding mergers in this photo. As you can see there is a girl, and behind her you can see a chalkboard with a metal strip at the top that would have looked like it was cutting into the head of the girl if I hadn't put her as just the focus. Front Pages of the World

1. My favorite newspaper I came across was one from Bismark, North Dakota called "The Bismark Tribune." This one is my favorite because it has eye capturing photos and not over taking text that looks too wordy. Also it has a calm color scheme that is nice to the eye. 2. My favorite headline from the newspaper is "Panda cub Bao Bao bound for China" because it is about pandas, and who doesn't want to read about a baby panda named Bao Bao? 3. There are 3 main stories on my front page, and a long caption to a photo. 4. All the newspapers I looked at have around 4 stories on the front page, 2-3 photos, and one dominant headlining story. 5. Something very different between all the newspapers is obviously language, and how the pages are laid out. All of them have different layouts which make them unique. 1. Something that our school newspaper has that other normal newspapers don't have is more personal stories and something that can relate to a younger crowd

1. Photography Resolutions for 2016 http://petapixel.com/2014/12/31/10-photography-resolutions-new-year/ On this website, I really paid attention to what the writers resolutions were. I was very interested in the pictures that went along with the text, but I was more hooked to the reading portion of it, only because there was great description AND it was talking about New Year's resolutions which is very relevant to this time of year since the new year is right around the corner. I really did like the photos because they added more content about the writers goals for the upcoming year and sort of an example of what she was trying to accomplish.
