Front Pages of the World

1. My favorite newspaper I came across was one from Bismark, North Dakota called "The Bismark Tribune." This one is my favorite because it has eye capturing photos and not over taking text that looks too wordy. Also it has a calm color scheme that is nice to the eye. 2. My favorite headline from the newspaper is "Panda cub Bao Bao bound for China" because it is about pandas, and who doesn't want to read about a baby panda named Bao Bao? 3. There are 3 main stories on my front page, and a long caption to a photo. 4. All the newspapers I looked at have around 4 stories on the front page, 2-3 photos, and one dominant headlining story. 5. Something very different between all the newspapers is obviously language, and how the pages are laid out. All of them have different layouts which make them unique. 1. Something that our school newspaper has that other normal newspapers don't have is more personal stories and something that can relate to a younger crowd ...

SIMPLICITY In this photo, I focused on simplicity. What is in focus, is a part of the girls hair and face, but you can also the action of what she is doing. If I had put the whole photo into focus nothing would be standing out to the viewer. THIRD PERSON In this photo, my composition rule was third person. I could have put the girl in far left, in the center, but then it would have changed what your audience was seeing. I wanted them to see the girl, but also where she was. Since the girl who I was really striving to make the subject, is not really the first thing you might see, I probably would have changed my focus manually. AVOIDING MERGERS I really tried to follow the composition rule of  avoiding mergers in this photo. As you can see there is a girl, and behind her you can see a chalkboard with a metal strip at the top that would have looked like it was cutting into the head of the girl if I hadn't put her as just the focus. Self Portraits and Portraits pt. 1

Alter Your Perspective:   Most portraits are taken with the camera at (or around) the eye level of the subject. While this is good common sense – completely changing the angle that you shoot from can give your portrait a real WOW factor. Experiment with Subject Expressions:   In some portraits it is the expression on the face of your subject that makes the image.  Get your subject to experiment with different moods and emotions in your image. Play with extreme emotions, b ut also try more sombre or serious type shots. Mirror effect:   A mirror or some other reflective surface offers an even easier way to take a self-portrait. In most cases, the camera will be included in the scene (but this can help make a statement about your enthusiasm for photography). You can use your camera as a prop, and hold it away from your face.
